En Route, Emirates team up for Breast Cancer Awareness

Tasty treats and breast cancer awareness on Emirates

En Route is supporting October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the second year running.

The UK company will raise awareness about the disease among women and to underline the importance of regular check-ups, because early diagnosis of breast cancer can mean simpler and more effective treatment. This year, En Route is increasing its support by taking the message out to passengers as well as crew with some tasty pink treats throughout October.

For the first time, passengers onboard Emirates flights on UK routes will be served cheeky Pink Strawberry Shortbreads with their tea. The Biscottea biscuits are made with natural, organic ingredients and are beautifully packaged with the logo “Raise your Pinky."

Airline crew will be offered Pink Porridge. The all-natural porridge is made with juicy raisins and cranberries, with a dash of ground cinnamon and a hint of natural beetroot powder, which turns the contents an irresistible pink when stirred.

“En Route has launched this creative initiative to help draw attention to the work of the UK charity Breast Cancer Care, which supports the thousands of people who wake up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day,” said a release from the company. “Their specialist nurses, services and emotional support network mean there’s always someone to turn to for information and support. This disease accounts for some 25% of all cancer cases.”

To consolidate its support, En Route has also pledged a £10,000 donation to Breast Cancer Care.
