Recaro CL3710 a design winner


The Gold “German Design Award” in the category “Public Design” from the German Design Council went to Recaro for the CL3710 economy class seat.


Recaro filed 18 patent applications to develop the CL3710. Among them, the ergonomic headrest that can be adjusted in six ways, allowing it suit passengers of different sizes. It also provides optimized neck support that can be tipped horizontally. 

The CL3710 was recognized for two other awards in 2015 – the “Focus Gold” award and the “iF Design Award.” 

Recaro customers around the world have ordered the CL3710 since its premiere at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013: At the end of 2014, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines became the first to enter the seat into service. CL3710 sales are now within the triple-digit million-euro range.

The ceremony for the German Design Award 2016 will take place February 12 in Frankfurt.
